Small Finnish Splitting Axe
This is a small Finnish splitting axe that I cleaned up, made
a new handle and a leather sheath for
I have a little test video right here
I started carving the handle from a branch of maple
using another axe. Then I shaped it using a knife
and a spoke shave and sanded it to 220
I cleaned up the head using a sanding disk
for my angle grinder and gave it a rough
sharpening
When I had fitted the head I finised it with
2 layers of danish oil
Then I made a leather sheath and sharpened it with a
wet stone
